IBI and ICOMIA ‘Workshop on New Technologies and Manufacturing’

The workshop was held on 20 November 13.30 – 17.00 hrs. The organising team in conjunction with the ICOMIA Technical Committee had assembled an outstanding line up of expert speakers and confirmed agenda items are:

  • Design for disassembly
  • Modularization in boatbuilding
  • Design, Installation and Maintenance of Large Battery Banks
  • Glazing – technology and standardisation developments
  • Changes to exisiting ISO standards
  • The new Recreational Craft Directive

The workshop also included the presentation of a renowned yacht designer’s “vision on future yacht design” presented this year by Kiko Villalon. Kiko has worked with production boatbuilders as Sea Ray, Regal, Cobia, Chaparral, Ebbtide, MonArk, Sportcraft, MasterCraft, Thundercraft and Four Winns.

Materia Experience in Construction Material Pavilion, 19-21 november

METS 2013 introduced an innovative addition: Material Xperience On Tour, part of the Construction Material Pavilion. Suppliers and experts displayed innovative materials. Here suppliers and experts from the global network Materia displayed innovative materials that could add considerable value to the maritime sector.

DAME Announcement, 19 November, Forum

METS Young Professionals Club

METS Young Professionals Club aims to help young professionals in the marine leisure industry (<35) to jumpstart their career. It’s the ideal opportunity to meet new people, network, learn from older generations and expand professional horizon. Membership is free of charge.

From 19 - 21 November 2013 20,500 international marine industry professionals were convene in Amsterdam RAI. During 3 days filled with inspiration and innovation, METS provided the perfect platform to network, exchange ideas and do business. ​
